Fair Play

Nice to have the steel-toed shoe on the other foot. All the better with which to kick.

The Schadenfreude to be enjoyed drops directly from the 2016 election results.

Given a clear choice between vast experience and absolute unpreparedness, between a first-rate temperament for governing or petulance and impatience intolerable in well-run enterprises, between a superior intellect brimming with curiosity and a small mind formed and locked early, less than half of American voters chose disaster. Unfortunately, our no longer great nation remains beholden to the last vestige of slavery.

The Electoral College.

Undeserving though awarded our presidency nonetheless, Donald Trump personifies the least of the United States. In his bloated, billowy, and bloviating presence he is the antithesis of “American exceptionalism.”

He is quite common and surpasses crass.

Yet Der Trump is what marginal segments, the dull parts of America preferred. Having asked, having been delivered, it’s a malicious pleasure for those of us who recognized the clear menace to state that the short-fingered vulgarian will give the suckers all the disappointment – and more! – they so eagerly yearned for.

If understood correctly, swaths of dumbass Anglo-America wasted its votes en masse on Der Trump because he voiced their fears. Oh! Can’t we hear FDR intoning now?

“You have nothing to look forward to but Der Trump scaring you.” There’s a phrase to rally a nation around.

Der Trump said he intended “restoring” their America. As if inbred, calcified, ignorant, addicted, and obese Red America needed bolstering. Through so many of the vile pig’s dog-whistle statements canines grasped then fixated on his promises to re-elevate the self-deluded, feeble-minded downtrodden to their accustomed prominence in our country.

Prone; to someone higher, fatter, and whiter above them.

For a vile halfwit whose sole concern first and foremost has always been himself, the citizens of Dawgpatch, Texas, flyover country, and Iron Belt segments put a lot of trust in a man those who know him best knew him as a fraud. Somewhere even P.T. Barnum is smacking his forehead.

Metropolitan New Yorkers, current and former, know Der Trump is the sort who’d swear he’d pull out just as he spooged in your mouth. Why else did he lose so badly in the area of his greatest renown? To a carpetbagger at that!? Because that’s how huge a bag of shit he is.

It’s easy imagining too many dopes watched his television show and cast ballots on the basis of what they saw. Sure, on TV Der Trump came across as level-headed and decisive. On the tube, he absorbed information and through swift deliberation determined which grasping supplicant earned the master’s favor.

Having seen him settle issues quickly and nearly bloodlessly on TV, and having grown frustrated with the ever slower decision-making pace in our increasingly complex world, Der Trump trundling along claiming he could simplify the difficult into manageable solutions must’ve seemed quite possible after those episodes of his show. Uh-huh. In the same way crimes are committed, investigated, and solved in hour-long police procedurals.

Astonishingly, few viewers expect real crime to be settled so neatly, so quickly. But how did tens of millions somewhat sensible people fall for the idea that governing could be so easily navigated and manipulated as machinations inside a boardroom? A phony boardroom at that?

Re-takes and editing gave us Der Trump and the ratbag that’s skewing America. The outtake reels of flubs exceed the finished episodes which have beguiled the public. As we all know in our own lives, real life is seldom packaged so orderly. Without an editor’s magic and umpteen takes, none of us should doubt that Der Trump would’ve come across TV screens as immature, thin-skinned, impulsive, insecure, and disorganized as he’s appeared as president.

Who would’ve voted for that mook?

Have Americans become that dumb? Or have the less dynamic among us refuted entirely what truly made America great?

Observing the campaign, it was funny listening to prospective voters lament about the nation’s decline. The country wasn’t regressing but they certainly were. So in that way too many of us conflate personal dilemmas by attaching them to subjects of greater stature – all the better to inflate its importance – their failures became “ours.”

Anglos were being left behind economically and socially? Maybe so, but wasn’t that through voluntarily curtailing their ambitions and willingly choosing to remained marooned? That wasn’t the fault of those who’d leapt ahead of them, was it? Nor advance through those age-old American virtues of hard work, diligence, and perseverance, but because elites above them have pitted another group over theirs.

Naturally. Our “ruling class” wants the apple cart upset in order to foment trouble that could possibly shake them from their perch? Yup. Who doesn’t want whatever advantages they enjoy unnecessarily threatened? Especially those who enjoy plenty?

Complaints regarding how the system gradually got skewed towards … well, you know, must’ve truly infuriated Der Trump’s followers. Based more on anecdote than fact, or just conjured from the air altogether, those who put in the work and earned were being denigrated by others who’d skated so long they’d forgotten the fruits of prosperity and comfort are born from honest effort.

Somehow if a co-worker, though these days the wrong complexion or accent makes him or her a competitor, worked harder and rightly advanced farther than the lesser the game must be rigged. At least according to right-wing screamers and reactionary barking heads giddy to tell the gullible their deficiencies aren’t self-derived but some kind of plot intended to shove the former leaders of the pack to the back.

Amazingly enough multitudes wish to believe the canard. Too many Americans have reached the point where we’d rather be lied to and mollified than challenged by the truth.

For being exposed to the truth, accepting its challenges, requires a self-confidence many Americans have either never known or from have been weaned. Again, it goes back to crimes being solved in 44 minutes. (Must make room for commercials in an hour program.) It lands on Der Trump rapidly calculating and issuing snap crucial decisions on trivial business matters.

Hey. If he could fix an ice rink and assure quality control of cotton candy at its concession stands then he must be fit for the Oval Office.

Yet Der Trump being awarded our presidency has produced one good result. And no, it’s not a stretch. His ascension into soiling the nation’s highest office now let true Americans respond remorselessly.

Throughout the Barack Obama presidency, those who supported him took his cue. We held our tongues. While his policies were fair game, only the mildest rebukes could be offered against the personal attacks.

No matter how harsh. No matter how unhinged.

The majority of us understood that one breach of decorum, no matter how egregious the insult against him, against decent Americans, would’ve confirmed the empty biases of the least among our fellow citizens. With Obama’s being the country’s first non-traditional leader, he had nowhere the same screw-up room as the 43 preceding him.

The comparisons to Jackie Robinson abound. Or in certain knowledgeable precincts these did. They remain apt. Like the Brooklyn Dodger, Obama passed the test much to the detriment of his most vehement detractors.

By succeeding politically, Obama, like Robinson in baseball, assures the succession of another non-traditional figure in a revered American profession until the distinction becomes common and no longer noted. And after a time it will.

Returning to Der Trump, based on his foul campaign rhetoric, and the enthusiasm it garnered, we may now call a spade a spade. It returns the favor to the mongrels and curs upon whose sagging shoulders he squats.

The lesser America, the weaker America, the despicable America, the deplorable one susceptible to opioids, meth, dismissive of education, permissive, irresponsible, intolerant, hidebound to traditions which bury them, they are in our sights now. Ironically, all the dependencies these people once gleefully accused of hindering black & brown Americans now should enthrall us because Anglos have become victims of similar deviancies.

Victims, not exactly the disparaging term hurled against those who suffered the same self-inflicted maladies in urban America, is it? Why is one a “victim” and another a [insert slur here]?

Me? Pitiless as this segment of mainstream America had been of Obama, indeed anyone whose skin pigment they found offensive, whose accent or heritage they regarded as inferior, I hope to respond in kind. In fact, I intend to give better than the dumbshits ever gave. Because today presented with the Der Trump’s dilution of them, Americans like myself are in the superior position. And though we should practice egalitarianism, those saps have willingly imperiled the nation.

True Americans have no recourse but to be merciless. After all wasn’t it that Copper State paragon Barry Goldwater who pronounced “… Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice! … That moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue!”?

Ours are now perilous times. True Americans need to take extreme measures against the evident menace.

Those Anglos in our nation’s less dynamic regions feeling marooned and abandoned ought to take pages from the people they easily criticize. Migrate. Seek better opportunities. Don’t forsake the past yet certainly unfetter themselves from it.

Southern blacks wrenched themselves away from the agrarian Jim Crow South into the North of Industrial America. Northern discrimination aside, their prospects and standings improved. Better than would had they remained in the segregated blight below the Mason-Dixon. Immigrants, legal and otherwise, are today taking the same steps and benefiting from uplifting results.

But of course none of the above strivers ever subscribed to deceptions that lulled Baboon America into its false and perhaps fatal complacency.
